Tiger sharks are found all over the world in temperate waters and are classified as near threatened due to overfishing. They are known to eat almost anything from tires to license plates and now, new research shows that baby tiger sharks have a bizarre item on their menu: common backyard birds. In a research project in the Gulf of Mexico, scientists found these birds in the shark’s stomachs. As these birds migrate south in winter, they rest on the surface where they are eaten.
